Indochina Starfish Foundation

Indochina Starfish Foundation (ISF) believes that every child, regardless of where they were born, has the right to education, healthcare and support.

Our aim is to make a fundamental and long-lasting positive change in the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged children and their families in Cambodia.  ISF currently operates two community based programmes on Education and Football.

1 in 3 Cambodian children will never finish primary school. This means they face a future without prospects, opportunities or hope. Our Education Programme makes a difference in the lives of more than 700 of these children, giving them a chance of a better tomorrow. We focus on children from the slums of Phnom Penh who have never been able to attend school or have had to drop out due to extreme poverty and provide them with a quality education. As no child exists in isolation, we work closely with their communities to lift entire families out of poverty.

Education is a basic human right, but so is the right to play and enjoy your childhood. Poverty often denies children this chance, along with the many health and emotional benefits it provides. ISF’s pioneering Football Programme gives children back their right to play and teaches them vital life skills. We provide over 3,500 children and young people from poor communities all over Cambodia with the opportunity to play competitive football. We work with schools, NGOs and community groups and the Football Federation of Cambodia to develop grassroots football in Cambodia and organise leagues, training and tournaments for these underprivileged players.

ISF wants to give hundreds of poor Cambodians the skills, confidence and opportunities to make their dreams come true. Join us to make this happen. For more information, check out our website or find us on Facebook.
