My Story

I will be scaling 3 Peaks in 3 Months :

8 Dec 2017 - Yushan (Jade Mountain), Taiwan, North-east Asia’s highest mountain, at  3952m above sea level;
28 Dec 2017 – Mount Kosciuszko, the highest mountain in Australia, at 2228m above sea level; and
23 Feb 2018 – Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, the highest mountain in Africa, and the highest free standing mountain in the world - 5895m above sea level.

On 8 Dec at 7.15 am local time, I summited Jade Mountain in Taiwan, overcoming  icey and snowy  conditions (complete with crampons).  My guide and I were the only ones on the mountain that morning due to the harsh and treacherous conditions, which made it an extra special achievement.  

On 28 Dec 2017 at 2.01pm local time, Gunther and I summited Mount Kosciuszko in New South Wales, and stood in line to have our photo taken at the peak -  together with a great many other tourists / day trippers out for a walk in the (national) park that day. 

Come 19 Feb, Gunther and I will begin our climb up Mount Kilimanjaro, aiming to be the first Homerleins / Lim-Homerleins to summit Uhuru Peak in the early morning on 24 Feb.  We will be supported by a crew of 12 !  You can follow our progress on http://kilimanjaro.vc
