Ahmad Saidin Mohd Idris is a 40 year old teacher at SK Lenjang, Lipis, who rides his motorcycle some 135 km daily in order to travel from his house in Kuala Medang to the school.
Although the path to the school is often muddy and difficult, Ahmad Saidin said he never once felt that riding the motorcycle to school is a burden, as it has become a daily routine to do what he describes as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience” – that is, teaching in an Orang Asli school in the interior.
Ahmad Saidin's heroic efforts have been recently featured in the media:
Ahmad Saidin would be grateful for any donation you can provide, which he plans to invest back into the school and the students. Depending on the amount that is raised, he, together with the School board, can decide how the amount will be best used.
All donors will be updated (through this site and through email) on how the money has been spent.
