Angels for Children
Motivated by her competitive nature, Emma Pike of Hong Kong’s Farmers Kitchen, has gathered (read “twisted their arms”) a group of mums to take part in the eight week Angels Fitness Challenge 2016. The main aim of this challenge is to raise awareness and money for the Angels for Orphans (www.angelsfororphans.co.uk) charity who will be putting the funds towards Bali Kids (www.balikids.org), whilst having a bit of fun and increasing general fitness levels along the way.The Green Guns Team – made up of Allie, Emma, Monique, Suvarna, Veena and trained by Nacho (Ignacio Elosu) of EPT Studio – are training daily with a view to eating more healthily to lose weight, gain muscle and improve on our scores of the fitness test taken at the start of the challenge. Saturday 11th June will mark the last day of the challenge where we are all determined to smash our times and scores for the plank, push-ups, wall squats as well as the dreaded weigh in and measurement taking and beat the other teams taking part. The money raised for Bali Kids will be used to fund a local language anti-smoking campaign aimed at children, some as young as ten years of age, who are unaware of the dangers and health risks associated with smoking. We do understand that you may have charities that are closer to your heart, but any donation, however big or small will be gratefully received. The money raised will make a difference to helping children understand the health risks that smoking carries and allow them to make informed lifestyle choices from a younger age. We thank you for your support.

We’ve all signed up for the Angels 8 week Fitness Change organised by the non-profit group Angels for Orphans (https://www.facebook.com/ANGELS4ORPHANS.HK/). Not only will we be getting fit and healthy over the next 8 weeks, we will also be raising vital funds that will be donated to Bali Kids (www.balikids.org). Bali kids provide education, health and dental care to underprivileged children, including a mobile clinic which travels around the villages to carry out health checks, and financing critical surgery. All funds raised will be go to support a new Anti-Smoking Education Program for children in Bali. The funds will cover the production, design and printing of a small booklet for kids about the evils of smoking. Currently, children do not receive any education on smoking and it is a major killer in Indonesia. Children as young as 4 are hooked on cigarettes and smoke up to 20 a day with no idea of the dangers this can have on their health. Unlike so many other countries, Indonesia still has companies sponsoring sporting events and events linked to youth thus endorsing this terrible habit. No one else in Bali is looking to tackle this locally, please help us to help Bali Kids get this project off the ground by sponsoring us. Their aim in the first 12 months is to educate around 5,000 children of the dangers of smoking and keep them healthy for life. Thank you, Kate, Meredith, Erin, Sarah and Louise
