THE
BACKSTORY
Letshanaa A Karupathevan is a 19-year-old independent shuttler from Malaysia. She has been playing for Malaysia
since the age of 8 years old. She is
currently rated in the top 270 Women Single Rating (Karupathevan
LETSHANAA | Profile (bwfbadminton.com)). Now, we are self-funding for
various international championships, for which we seek your support.
Whilst competing in BWF
tournaments, unfortunately, she sustained a back injury in 2021. Since 2022, she
has been independently funded and coached by her family. Her family supported
by her father A Karupathevan and myself, come from a very modest background and
have exhausted all our options to self-fund in her quest to represent Malaysia.
To provide a bit of favour, it costs around USD 3000-4000/RM 14000-18000 for
each tournament, which we have been supporting with the help of our savings, and support from friends and families. On top of this cost per tournament,
there is an ongoing cost of training and supplements, which works around USD
2000/ RM 10000. As you would imagine for any young athlete, time is the key and
she need to represent more tournaments (line up given below) in the next 12-18
month period, which is costing around USD 65000 / RM 300,000. ALL MONEY RAISED ON THIS PAGE WILL GO
100% TOWARDS SUPPORTING LETSHANAA.
K Letshanaa is inspired to win the international championship and fulfil her dream of competing in the Olympics and winning a medal for Malaysia. These tournaments will help her raise the world ranking to compete in Super Series Tournaments, World Championship and Olympics. She needs your support in this quest and any little help/referral
is massively appreciated.
In the interest of

For 2023, I will update you once I confirm which
tournaments, K Letshanaa will participate in. At least estimated around 10 tournaments to be played
K Letshanaa is an independent player. After she recovered from a back injury in May 2022 this year, she started her high-performance training program with her Coaches K Jhotiswaran and A Karupathevan. We have been looking for corporate sponsors, but we haven't found any significant ones, therefore we presently rely only on donations from other members and crowdfunding. From October 2022 to December 2022, she participated in 6 events.
We have spent almost RM80,000 on her tournaments, and high-performance training expenses.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS IN 2023:
Thank you so much to the people who have supported K Letshanaa. From 1st March (BAM) Badminton Association of Malaysia have appointed K Letshanaa to the National team. Thanks to all of the people who have supported her, she is on the right track and she will do her best in upcoming events. I will now close the crowdfunding campaign. Thank you.
