I always believed in the saying ‘a friend in need, is the friend in deed’ and so helped ABC when he came to me asking for help. Little did I know that he would take advantage of my trust and not return the amount that was lent to him in good faith. I do not wish anyone else to fall as their next target. My family and myself were affected and have suffered for more than 6 years in this ugly situation. We have been feeling cheated and conned. We are very upset because it affected my family’s financial stability as well our faith in goodness.

We wanted to go through proper legal channel, but we have exhausted every means to claim and recover our money that was tricked by these people whom we had known for years. We hope that justice could be served upon these people who have been extremely irresponsible and have happily ignored our needs and situation in life. We hope to end this struggle as soon as possible so that we all can go back to our normal lives. We also wish that the legal authorities could ensure that these people would not do such mean and selfish actions again and also be liable to what they have done to us. Those people are living carefree while we are struggling on daily basis.

We have approached a registered fundraising/charity platform for assistance and have submitted documents to them for verification and gotten approval. The lawyer that has kindly helped us on our case is Mr Joel Loh from Logica Law LLC, a law firm in Singapore. Mr Joel is patient and understanding, he has come out with plan that is appropriate for our case, which helps to tackle our current situation. We are thankful to Simply Giving and Mr Joel.
