Farah (9 years old) and Anna (12 years old) are sisters. Anna has just taken her PSLE a few months ago. She and her sister have been staying with their grandparents for the past few years. These two girls' mother had a child with her current boyfriend. She has decided to leave Farah and Anna to stay with her boyfriend and their child. As Farah and Anna's mom is not employed, she does not provide any financial support for the girls.
Farah and Anna's grandparents are elderly and they are not able to care for the girls as well as they would like to. Anna is enrolled with a student care centre and spends her after-school hours at the centre. The girls' biological father is no longer in contact with them and does not provide any form of support to the family.
Their uncle and aunt also stay with the girls and their grandparents. However, their uncle is currently unemployed and the family is dependent on their aunt’s sole income to support the entire family of 6. Farah and Anna have requested for a bed set with work desk (each) so that they can do their school work and revision properly, especially during weekday evenings and weekends. We are raising $1280 ($640 a set) to fulfill their wishes.
