Let's Save the Children of Aceh Earthquake Victims

A 6.5-magnitude quake hit Aceh's Pidie Jaya district early on 7 December, Wednesday morning. Thousands residents have been evacuated as their homes were either damaged or destroyed by the quake. Homes, hospital, school and others public facility also badly damaged. National Disaster Management Authority of Indonesia (BNPB) reports the number of victims on December 9 increased to 102 people, and more than 700 people were seriously injured.

A joint team continues to collect the data. Preliminary data suggest that 10.534 houses damaged, with 2,929 houses were heavily damaged and the total number of the displaced are 11,142 people. They fled to the house of their relatives and there also were evacuated to 28 evacuation camps. The conditions of evacuation post is very alarming with minimal facilities and no entertainment tends to make victims, especially the children are in a state of depression and stress.

Bantu Anak-anak Korban Gempa Aceh.

Rabu 7 Desember lalu gempa bumi berkekuatan 6.5 SR  mengguncang Kabupaten Pidie Jaya (Pijay), Aceh. Ribuan warga mengungsi. Rumah dan fasilitas umum rusak. Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) menyebutkan jumlah korban pada 9 Desember bertambah menjadi 102 orang, dan lebih dari 700 orang luka berat dan ringan.

Pendataan terus dilakukan oleh tim gabungan. Data sementara menyebutkan terdapat 10.534 unit rumah rusak, dimana 2.015 rumah rusak berat, 85 rumah rusak sedang, dan 8.434 rumah rusak ringan. Total jumlah pengungsi 11.142 jiwa. Mereka tersebar di rumah-rumah saudara atau kerabatnya dan di 28 titik pos pengungsian. Kondisi posko pengungsian yang minim fasilitas dan tidak ada hiburan cenderung akan membuat korban bencana, terutama anak berada dalam keadaan depresi dan stress.

Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik partner of Save the Children menjalankan program tanggap darurat untuk membantu korban gempa di sana, khususnya anak-anak. Kami tidak hanya berfokus pada bantuan fisik pasca-gempa, namun juga pemulihan psikologis korban. Di sana kami telah mendirikan Ruang Ramah Anak untuk mengurangi stres dan trauma akibat bencana pada anak sehingga anak-anak dapat berada dalam kondisi yang nyaman dan mereka dapat kembali ke lingkungan yang normal.
