We are organising an Arts Festival, called Artz4Earth Festival. We wanted to dedicate this festival to not only art and Generation Z (hence the Z in the Artz4Earth), but also to appreciating the beauty of nature by spreading awareness on how we could prevent further damage to the Earth. As children, we know that we will be part of the future to come. Because of this, it is important for us to take care of the only planet we have. To tie in with this theme, Artz4Earth will host various activities and performances dedicated to nature, including a Gamelan performance (playing songs dedicated to nature), an Eco Kids Upcycling Contest (with upcycled sculptures), and an Eco Fashion Show (showcasing clothes that are upcycled/reused/thrifted), just to name a few. On top of that, to bring light and awareness to plastic waste pollution, which is a very worrying matter for the Earth, the festival will also be as zero waste as possible.
Artz4Earth looks to be a platform to bring modern and traditional/cultural art together, spreading awareness that art is diverse and that the definition of ‘art’ is not a single box that only certain art forms can fit in. On top of that, we want for people of various backgrounds to come together to appreciate the arts created, choreographed and coordinated by children and teens. Our goal is to achieve unity and acceptance.
It is important for us to execute this vision because, as children of this generation, Generation Z, we feel that it is important to give children and teens a voice to express themselves. We believe that there is a lot than can be learnt from children and teens alike. For this generation (Generation Z), information has always been easily accessible through the internet, this is why many of us are aware on the various different world issues. One of those world issues is protecting nature. It will be very meaningful for us to be able to inspire and empower others our age to speak up for what they believe in, and encourage them to showcase their talents at the same time. Arts is the one single platform which allows people to do this, which is why we feel very strongly about making Artz4Earth happen.

We are the organising committee for the Teen Ambassadors of Arts (TAA) programme. The TAA programme is founded by the Independent Learners Studio, a company providing programmes to the youth, in collaboration with 95 Percent (95%), a training and corporate culture consultancy practitioner.
The organising committee consists of a diverse mix of passionate, dedicated all-Malaysian teens and tweens aged 11-18 years old, with one common vision in mind, that is: “To create a safe and encouraging environment for children and teens to freely express themselves through art”. The end product for the TAA programme is to have an Arts Festival, Artz4Earth, on the 14th of July.
