I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My name is Gleezel, and I am the wife of an incredible man named Nico. Nico is not only a devoted husband and father of our three beautiful children, but also a dedicated professional who has worked tirelessly in the BPO industry to provide for our family. His strength, love, and unwavering support have always been the foundation of our lives.
Recently, our world was shattered when Nico suffered a mild stroke, also known as Cerebrovascular Disease. It was an unexpected and devastating event that left us all in shock. Nico was rushed to the hospital, where he spent over a week battling fluctuating fevers, dangerously low potassium levels, and severe gastroenteritis issues. His resilience and determination to fight through this ordeal were truly remarkable, and after a grueling week, he was finally able to come home.
However, our journey is far from over. Nico's recovery is a long and challenging process. He is currently undergoing intensive medications and physical therapy to address the lasting effects of the stroke. These treatments are crucial for his recovery but come at a significant cost—around 3,000 PHP daily. His doctors have informed us that he will need at least six months of continuous care and therapy to regain his strength and functionality.
As a result of this extended recovery period, Nico will be unable to work for an extended time. Despite his strong work ethic and dedication, he will exhaust his available time-off hours and soon face weeks without any salary. The financial strain of medical expenses, combined with the lack of income, is overwhelming for our family. We are now confronted with the harsh reality of how to make ends meet while ensuring Nico gets the care he desperately needs.
