While Indonesia is still recovering from tsunami attack in Central Sulawesi last October, another deadly tsunami hit Sunda Strait, Saturday (22/12). Cause of the disaster was triggered by Anak Krakatau eruption.
Over 429 people lost their lives, 1.485 have been injured and hundreds of people missing. Homes and buildings are destroyed, leaving 16.082 people displaced. Numbers continue to rise as evacuation is ongoing.
We have reached location of disaster within 24 hours. Our initial response is sending logistic aid such as blankets, tents, hygiene kits, tarpaulins, temporary sanitation facilities, and psychological first aid to children.

In the aftermath of Sunda Strait tsunami, children and families affected are struggling to build their lives. Death toll reached 473 people, 10 reported missing, and thousands of buildings are ruined. The affected areas are settlements and tourist areas along the coast such as Tanjung Lesung Beach, Sumur, Teluk Lada, Penimbang and Carita. The time of many tourists visit the beach along Pandeglang. There is some road damage, a highway connecting Serang and Pandeglang is damaged.
