Friends might notice that my chosen cause this year has deviated a lot from my usual causes - education, poverty, community building, disaster relief, hunger, and environment. This is because ever since we had cats at home, I’ve had a softer spot for animals. As such, I have been regularly supporting the Humane Society International to help end animal cruelty. Closer to home, friends would know that I've been voluntarily feeding the cats of Greenbelt for years now. I've also been donating cat and dog food to smaller animal shelters and people who I know take care of stray animals. But of course, I want to do more!
That is why for my birthday fundraiser this year, I'm choosing to raise money for CARA Welfare Philippines. While CARA is not an animal shelter, this NPO promotes animal welfare in the country through education, public awareness, affordable sterilization and veterinary care, and the rehabilitation and rehoming of cats and dogs in need. Personally, I've seen CARA in action when feeding cats in Greenbelt as they also have a regular feeding program for targeted locations with large cat/dog colonies/communities. Plus, they take care of sick and/or abused animals!
And so for friends and family who’d like to give me a birthday present, I'd appreciate it all the more if you can donate the money to this fundraiser instead. Your contribution, whether big or small, will be much appreciated and make an impact in supporting and protecting our vulnerable furry friends.🐶🐱🐕🐈⬛
Thank you for your usual support and may God bless you for your generosity!💙
