My Story

OUR VISION:

A stray-free Malaysia - to create a humanity without homeless animals and improve animal welfare.

We strive to be a part of the solution to help control the stray population through the most humane way which is spay/neutering.

2020 GOAL

Our 2020 goal is to TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) ) minimum 100 cats here in Malaysia.

This would include transportation, fosterting, surgery, vaccination, post-op recovery, resolving medical conditions (if any), and feeding management (community setup including feeders, cat food and

HOW TO HELP - MAKE A DONATION

Aside from TNR, we often get special calls to rescues or caring for sick or injured cats.

We require continuous funding to support and help our community animals.

We rely mainly through donations from our compassionate animal community and partially from our boarding business. With donations like yours, it really helps us continue our work, do more and help more strays towards our vision.

Your donation will always be used in the most economical way so we can help more animals.

THROUGH HUMANE CAT POPULATION CONTROL

WHAT IS TNR?

Why is Spay/ Neuter Important

If we want to reduce the suffering of animals on the streets, we need to first control its population. Please see the chart below to see the impact of ONE unspayed/unneutered cat

Trap-Neuter-Return Program

With trap-neuter-return (TNR), cats are caught in humane box traps, spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and returned where they were found to live. TNR humanely manages feral and free roaming cats, while preventing the cats from breeding.

These cats have been “ear tipped” to mark them as spayed, neutered, and vaccinated as part of the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program. These cats should never be re-trapped or brought to a shelter unless they are sick.

Spaying and neutering controls the growth of feral colonies and reduces nuisance behaviors such as spraying/marking by males, fighting and noisy mating encounters.

Why Not Trap-and-Remove?

Stray and feral cats populate an area because it supports them with food, shelter and safety. If they are trapped and removed, the space will be filled with other cats who linger on the fringes of the territory. This is called the “vacuum effect.” As new cats migrate into the area, they produce more kittens, which leads to renewed calls for trap-and-remove.

Why Not Place These Cats in Homes?

Trying to domesticate a cat that has never lived indoors, and has been quite content and happy outdoors, would be no different than trying to make a raccoon or a squirrel a household companion. You may partially succeed but only with a great deal of time and patience. More importantly, the cat would no longer be able to live in a manner that best suits it. Many well-meaning people feel they are “saving” a feral cat by bringing it indoors, only to find that the cat spends its life hiding and living in constant fear.

TNR does not rescue and rehome cats. It controls the feral cat population and—via spay and neuter—gradually and permanently reduces the number of feral cats in an area. TNR lowers the intake and euthanasia rates in shelters and creates better, less hostile environments for feral cats.

TNR does not stop at the return after spay and neuter. Colony management protects the cats’ continued wellbeing. -Source: SPSCPA

Rehoming TNR Cats

There are special occasions where we do our best to rehome cats, more often cases in kittens.

This goes under our REHOMING/ ADOPTION Program of ParkMYPets.

Our Story

On 20 January 2020, we launched our first project to spay and neuter in capturing 10 stray cats. This includes spay/neuter surgery, recovery care, releasing them back and some up for adoption.

We have received overwhelming support including monetary donations, volunteers and in-kind donations. We also exceeded our funding goal and with this, we were able to continue helping more cats in the past few months!

We are very grateful for everyone who has been part and supported us and this project.

We did it together as a community!

After the success of our first TNR project, we continued our mission mainly in the South Bangsar area.

As of this date (6 April, 2020) and the start of our program on 20 January, we have rescued 28 cats (18 of them have been spayed/ neutered).

By just this small rescue up to date, we helped save almost 990 possible future stray cats roaming in the streets in the next 16 months!

This is how important spaying and neutering is, that is why we are urging you to join or support these programs.

Core monthly sponsors will have special communication updates to stay updated on our work and involvement as well as other incentives.
