5-year-old Mark is being raised by his single mother. She works hard to provide him with enough food and shelter, but no matter how hard she works, she can't make enough money to pay the surgery he needs to repair his imperforated anus.

Mark may look as lively and playful as any other child, but life is difficult for him since he cannot have a normal bowel movement. Right after he was born his mother discovered that he did not have a rectal opening. Although she took him to the doctor and Mark immediately went through a colostomy procedure, his mother could never afford to pay for the next surgery, a colostomy closure, that would restore him to full health.

Mark's mother said, " I am hoping that Mark can go through the surgery needed for him to have a normal bowel movement and most importantly to have a normal life. Also, I hope that someday Mark can finish his studies, even though I am the only one supporting him. I hope that God will give me good health to always be there for Mark."
