ABOUT ECHO MAGAZINE

IIUM ECHO is a comprehensive magazine published once in a semester by students for students of IIUM. The mission of ECHO Magazine is to widen the students’ horizon in knowledge and how it relates with different aspect of our lives. It also aims to increase awareness of current issues in an interesting approach, encourage the culture of writing and to transform the students from book-oriented to research-oriented intellectuals. Loaded with beautiful photographs and fascinating illustrations, IIUM ECHO Magazine delivers all the inspiration and information you need, all the way from current Economic issues to Social, Educational, Islamic, Sports, and other general topics. The magazine enjoys a powerful and experienced editorial team. Full of ideas and competitions that are easy and fun-to-undertake, it appeals to both students of different faculties and their lecturers. As an extra bonus, each issue includes books and events reviews, IIUM student’s achievements, and experiences of students that might help other students on the way of their academic success. 

HOW WE CREATE IMPACT

1.     Knowledge Sharing

We provide an opportunity for all students and lecturers who want to share their knowledge with everyone around the globe. We take advantage of technology to globally disseminate knowledge and convey amazing ideas and opinions on different subjects.

2.     Writing and Research Platform

Apart from Knowledge sharing, we also provide a platform for creation of new knowledge. IIUM ECHO only accepts articles that are well written and academically supported. This enhances students writing skills and transforms them to research oriented intellectuals.

3.     Skills and experience to students.

Our magazine is published entirely by students. Editing, Marketing and Designing are all done by IIUM students. This provides them enormous experience which will be very helpful to them in their future endeavors.

WHY ARE WE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP?

Unlike most magazines that are for sale, IIUM Echo magazine is for free. We are committed to ensure that we present our readers with reliable, accurate, and interesting information on economics and other disciplines, analysed from both conventional and Islamic perspectives entirely free. This is because we believe knowledge is something that is not meant to be sold.  

 Currently, the Echo team is working for the fifth edition that will be published soon in March 2017. We are raising funds to cover:

- Magazine printing cost

- Developing our own Magazine App

- Buying a camera for capturing photos for the Magazine

- Other magazine running costs (Marketing, Buntings, Posters etc.)

 

We extend our utmost gratefulness for your valuable contributions. We envision IIUM Echo to be one of the most prominent magazines in the world, shedding light on economics and other disciplines while incorporating Islamic perspectives. No matter how small or big the contribution is, it would be very meaningful for us to achieve our vision.
