Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally as well as in Malaysia. Globally, nearly 1 in 6 deaths is due to cancer. According to National Cancer Registry Report 2012-2016, the risk of males getting cancer is 1 in 10 and for females is 1 in 9. The National Cancer Society of Malaysia (Persatuan Kanser Kebangsaan Malaysia), (NCSM), is the first not-for-profit cancer organisation in Malaysia that provides education, care and support services for people affected by cancer and the general public.
Established in 1966, NCSM is a tax-exempt charity body registered under the laws of the Malaysian Societies Act and Registrar of Societies Malaysia. Due to the pandemic, NCSM services is greatly affected due to lack of funding. The services provided by NCSM are
Our aim for this campaign is to achieve at least a minimum of RM8000 for NCSM to support their operations. By supporting this campaign you are helping NCSM to continue their operation and the cancer children's families to reduce their burden, as well as to provide education, care and support services for people affected by cancer.
Furthermore, by having 30% of the fund, AIESEC in Taylor's University is able to continue the sustainability of this project to continue our semiannual initiative to raise awareness on cancer.
Goal Breakdown
Goal 1 - Providing ‘a home away from home’ for underprivileged child cancer patient – and their caregivers from outside of Kuala Lumpur. Amount Needed: MYR6,000.00
Goal 2 - Providing highly subsidised screening for the public and free screening for the underprivileged. Amount Needed: MYR4,000.00
Goal 3 - Providing nuclear imaging services at a highly subsidised rate. Amount Needed: MYR5,000.00
