The annual Bangers on Bikes Charity Bike Ride is taking place on the 18-22 February 2019.

Raising funds this year for our primary school building!

The event started in Feb 2010 and was initiated by Bob Pearson, a Scottish teacher and rugby player. Fellow expat rugby players and friends, Jeff Klentzi (French) and Pete Burgess (Aus) joined Bob for the first event from Bangkok to Phuket.

History in the making.... All funds raised by their enormous efforts each year were saved in the ACF Building Fund. Previous funds enabled us to build a kitchen and multi-purpose lunch room at our Burmese Learning Center, as well as contributed to the expenses for the new pre-school building for Thai kids on the future school premises in Kathu. Their route this year will start in Bangkok and end in Phuket - repeating the first ride they did a decade ago... and they will finish the ride at the new school facility in Kathu on the 22nd February where we will receive them with a welcoming ceremony.

So far their rides have taken them from Bangkok to Phuket a number of times, once from Phuket to Bangkok, then from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, from Malaysia to Bangkok and from Chiang Mai and Yangon to Bangkok. 

They cover all expenses personally and all funds raised are donated to charity.
