The Hong Kong Doddie Gump is back!
This hike and charity drive is all in aid of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation to help raise money and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (we have raised more than HK$500k from our previous hikes).
The event is completely FREE to join, however, we encourage you to share this fundraising page with family, friends and colleagues.
The My Name'5 Doddie Foundation is now a registered charity in Hong Kong, and all money raised will be split evenly, with 50% going directly into research to find a cure, with the other 50% remaining in Hong Kong to support MND patients with palliative care.
The event is also entirely self-sufficient, therefore please make sure you have enough provisions to last your hike. There is a garage at the halfway stage near the HKCC where you can refill water, etc.
We plan to try and get everyone finishing at Big Wave Bay around the same time, between 4 and 5 pm, where we will host some well-deserved refreshments.
As in previous years, we have different options for people to join, whether you are going to join the full 50km from the Peak, the first half, the second half, or just the Dragon's Back. We would like to have everyone finish to join the celebration drinks, so please calculate how long you think it will take and adjust your start time accordingly.
The main group will start at The Peak at 6 am with a 10-hour pace predicted.
I also have MND "Doddie" headbands for all participants! Hence, tartan, Scottish attire, club our country rugby or football tops are also strongly encouraged!
