Aim:

To raise funds for AIESEC in Taylor’s University to sustain the Here For You project which targets the cancer community. Sustainability of AIESEC in Taylor’s University is vital to ensuring the continuity in performing and delivering project benefits to the target beneficiaries. Funding is integral as it permits for the existence of AIESEC in Taylor’s University as well as sustains our operations, therefore we require private, public, and individual contributions to achieve our organizational goals in making an impact to the community.

About AIESEC:

Together with our partner organizations, AIESEC provides young people with leadership development, cross-cultural global internships, and volunteer exchange experiences all around the world.

Project Background:

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 29,530 deaths in Malaysia in 2020. The most common types of cancers are breast cancer, lung cancer followed by colon and rectum cancer. Apart from that, It is estimated that 1 in every 4 Malaysians will develop cancer by 75 years old. However, 30-50% of these cases are preventable by avoiding risk factors such as physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, tobacco and alcohol use. Therefore, in accordance with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, we strive to raise awareness on cancer, advocate the importance of early detection and proper treatment, and debunk myths surrounding cancer. This is done by holding workshops and campaigns, collaborating with relevant local institutions and running donation drives to raise funds for them.
