A small monthly donation will go a long way to help us reach our goal of $2,000 for all books required by the end of the school year
Early Childhood Education (ECE) - ($800)
Workbooks for KKS Alumni - ($400)
Library books for both GU and Kelchey Libraries - ($800)
Our ECE mission is to prepare early learners (ages 4-6) for their future education by providing a quality, holistic Early Childhood Education (ECE) that includes a strong health and nutrition component.
Until recently, very few children in the Pot Sar area have access to ECE. Most of them struggle to read and write as they skipped kindergarten to go straight to Grade 1.
ECE is one of the three main programs implemented by the Green Umbrella organization. ECE has been implemented to support the needs of the Early Child Education Services and to enable Cambodian children to embark on a lifelong learning journey, especially children living in rural areas, vulnerable children, and children who are living in low and middle-income families.
We know that future success depends on the strong language development of young students. One of the ways we are building language is by using age and culture-appropriate pictures and story books. We already have a good number of books in the library, but the kindergarten classes need more to support the literacy program, now that we have 8 classes in 2022.
Our KKS Alumni program supports graduates from our KKS Primary school providing additional lessons in STEM subjects. While the youth improve their skills using laptops donated by donors, they also take home workbooks are required,
Our Libraries (at GU and Kelchey) aim to stock a wide range of quality books, offering enormous benefits to young children’s social/emotional, vocabulary and thinking skills development. Children of all ages, as well as novice monks, love to come and read together from a wide range of classics, fiction and non-fiction books, history books, comics, and more.
