STEP FOR CHANGE

 Many of us have lost a job at some point in our careers, but have you ever experienced losing your livelihood? Whole Businesses and industries are being forced to close down and many people have found themselves jobless, through no fault of their own and with small hope of finding a new job before their savings run out.

How long would your savings last if you lost your job, how would you pay your rent, mortgage? Would your kids be ok? Who would you be able to turn to for help.

Losing a job is the tip of the iceberg. What happens after losing a job is where the real heart break sets in. Suicide cases also went up this year averaging 468 in the first five months of 2021, climbing from an annual total of 631 in 2020 and 609 in 2019.

At PageGroup, we help people find jobs, that’s our business. But at times like this, companies have a responsibility to do more. Teamwork is one of our core values and we want to take the opportunity to give back to the community by encouraging everyone to work to help each other in difficulties regardless of race and religion supporting the “White Flag Campaign” that urges those in desperate need of food and assistance to display a white flag in front of their home as a sign they need immediate help.

From 2nd - 15th August the Page Malaysia team are hoping to raise RM 20,000 [updated to RM50,000 on 4/8] by committing to 10,000 steps every day. We hope every small step will help you to help us make a small difference because every little counts. Donations raised from this fundraising event will be donated to The Lost Food Project.

About The Lost Food Project: The Lost Food Project (TLFP) is a pioneering food bank, aiming to rescue surplus food from Malaysian supermarkets & placing it in the hands of those who need it most. TLFP works to feed hungry people and offer them a nutritious diet, as well as reduce environmental damage by preventing unnecessary food waste & recycling organic waste wherever possible.
