Unless we act now, the floods in Mindanao
and Metro Manila will rob children of their
future.
The wreckage caused by the floods from Super Typhoon Carina, upended the lives of
180,000 in Metro Manila. Meanwhile, as the storm raged in Manila, 94,000 families,
with 56,000 children were struggling with the impact of the floods in Mindanao. The
promise of a new year of learning has dimmed for children in Manila and in Mindanao.
Although the rain has temporarily stopped, we need to help these children and their
families towards recovery. The first step towards normalcy is to get these children to
school.
YOUR SUPPORT CAN CHANGE CHILDREN’S FUTURE
You can help to provide children with back-to-school kits to help continue their learning. Since their homes were devastated by floods, the families would need
food packs and hygiene kits. You can choose from any of these amounts:
- PhP 800: Provides an emergency hygiene kit for one (1) family, consisting of several boxes of soap, detergent bar, tabo-and-timba, toothbrush and other basic hygiene materials
- PhP 1500: Provides ana back-to-school kit to one (1) child, consisting of backpack, raincoat, and school supplies
- PhP 2500: Provides one emergency food pack and one hygiene kit to one (1) family
