Small Changes Malaysia is home to youths taking small initiatives in hopes of creating big differences within the local community. Established in 2011, its primary aim is to help combat education inequality by reducing the urban-rural educational gap through multiple exposures hoped to empower the future generation. The core values that we’d like to put forward in all our initiatives include volunteerism, empowerment, them before us and creating social awareness. “Small Changes Big Differences” is a belief that one does not need to be grandeur in action to make an impact.
We at Small Changes believe that education is a fundamental necessity that should be made available to all students regardless of their socioeconomic status. In this fast paced era that we live in, education expands beyond the four walls of a classroom in that young individuals nowadays are expected to be equipped with soft skills and industry-relevant skills for their future endeavors.
Having said that, our main initiatives in the pursuit of bridging the educational gap between rural and urban students are our Seeds of Deeds camps. SOD Reinforced is a follow up camp from 2018. The team aims to execute a three-day camp, benefitting a total of 120 students from the previous main camp that was carried out in Pasir Gudang, Johor involving high-potential secondary school students aged between 15 and 17 years old. Seeds of Deeds (SOD) Reinforced aims to groom students through its modules which incorporate essential elements that are fundamental in the growth into holistic young adulthood. Apart from equipping students with industry-relevant skills such as financial, information technology (IT), and media skills, the modules will also cover character and confidence building with the use of English as the primary mode of communication. The modules are also tailored to create environmental awareness among the beneficiaries as this is an area that we believe deserves equal priority. These exposures are deemed to carry the capacity of providing them access to quality education
In order to make SEEDS OF DEEDS: REINFORCED JOHOR 2019 a reality, we require funds to cover the required costs for the beneficiaries as well as the camp facilitators. Thus, with your kind contribution, we would be able to do just that. The estimated allocation of funds are listed below:-
Venue & Accommodation: RM 5400
Module Materials: RM 1200
Food & Beverage: RM 6000
Insurance: RM 2400
Transport: RM 3000
Camp Facilitators' expenses: RM 2000
It is our sincere belief that we will be able to help eradicate education inequality within the Malaysian community with your help! Do support our cause in any way that you can as every contribution is highly appreciated.
