Dear Family & Friends,

Done! At 8:18am on Friday, 9th April, I crossed the finish line after running my final 16km to complete 500km in 12 weeks! What a huge relief after spending many early mornings pounding the roads around Ampang. Unsurprisingly, the family was hugely relieved too as they have had to put up with a rather grumpy and tired 50 year old moaning about blisters, blackened toes nails, aches, lack of sleep etc.

Thank you to everyone for your messages of support and generous donations. I am delighted to tell you we have raised over RM360,000 (USD87,000) through the Simply Giving platform and direct transfers into WWF-Malaysia's bank account. This amount is significantly more than what we had anticipated! I'm truly touched and overwhelmed by your generosity. I will now work with the wonderful team at WWF-Malaysia to ensure the funds raised are channeled to deliver conservation impact where it is needed most. You will soon hear from me again with more details.

As we have previously mentioned, Stevo and I will match the amount raised to support three other less well known NGOs - Hospis Malaysia, Lang Tengah Turtle Watch and Rimba. Because the amount raised has far exceeded our expectations, we will also include Sarawak Community Reforestation (a newly formed NGO working closely with rural communities to replant indigenous seedlings on degraded land around Kampung Nyegol, Sarawak) as a recipient of the funds we are matching.
