WORKING TOGETHER THROUGH THE COVID-19 CRISIS
Friends, Family, Malaysians and fellow Human Beings,
I could say there is hope, that we would recover, that the worse of the crisis is over. However, we would only be deluding ourselves. Worldwide, the number of confirmed cases is rising at an alarming and accelerated rate such that National Healthcare Institutes are unable to cope as more patients are admitted on a daily basis. The truth is, we at Suriana Welfare, desperately need YOUR HELP.
In an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, our government, on 18th March 2020, implemented the Movement Control Order 2020 ("MCO"). We were asked to stay home and to avoid all forms of social contact. And as a whole, it has been working. We have stayed home and worked from home, comfortably earning our salary despite the pandemic. But what about the less fortunate? The manual labourers, the hawker operators, our beloved kai fan (chicken rice) Uncles and Aunties, our beloved Anehs at the local mamak where we are fond of lepaking at. What about those who do not have the luxury of staying home?
Here at Suriana Welfare Society, we have received various cries for aid from the underprivileged communities. In response, we initiated the Suriana Covid Food Aid program. On a daily basis, we purchase and distribute food to such communities. However, we cannot do this alone. We rely on donations from the able public in order to continue our work. We don't expect much! (although 'much' would still be appreciated!). Could you donate just RM5 a month? With our new recurring donations, you can donate a reasonable amount every month (and you can stop at any time you'd like) rather than a lump sum big one! That's all we ask for!
