ABOUT THE BOOK

This "Turtles of Malaysia" colouring book retails at RM20/copy but for this fundraiser, the books are going at RM10/copy. It consists of 18 colouring pages, one for each of Malaysia's native freshwater turtle and tortoise. The description for each turtle is written on the opposite page in two languages, i.e. Bahasa Melayu and English. A glossary page is also provided at the back of the book for children to learn new, unfamiliar words.

To date, 1,700 copies of the colouring book have been distributed to local, rural students for free since it was published in July 2022.

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT THE BOOK

"I’m really glad a book about turtles of Malaysia was created as it highlights the importance of protecting these unique animals. Kids will really enjoy this book, as it’s just so lovely to look at and some of the facts you can learn about the species diversity and their life really make you want to know more about them..."
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Uzair b. Rusli, SEATRU, UMT

"Anak dan anak-anak saudara saya sangat suka buku ini. Si kakak ajar adik-adik sambil bercerita mengenai tuntung, kemudian mereka boleh mewarna bersama. Saya rasa, tak banyak buku dwibahasa yang menceritakan tentang hidupan liar ini..."
- Wan Zuriana bt. Wan Sulaiman, Lang Tengah Turtle Watch (LTTW)

"This is one of the rarest books that manage to find the delicate balance between being simple yet informative, and fun for both parents and kids. The first person narrative of each species provides an excellent way to learn by telling a story, even as bedtime story..."
- Lau Chai Ming (Edmund), Reef Stakes

"My 5 year-old was very excited when he received this book. Since then, he’s asked many questions about the ecology of turtles. I highly recommend this book to everyone."
- Dr. Nur Atiqah bt. Ab. Rahman, Malaysian Cave & Karst Conservancy (MCKC)
