The GEN-Z Warriors is participating in Fundraisers for #BetterNormal
and is fundraising for Greenpeace SEA Environmental Trust Inc.

Farmers are also Frontliners. We believe that they are the backbone of the country especially during this pandemic and if we work together, we can achieve this better-normal life we’re dreaming of. Hence, we are making a difference by raising funds to support locals. In advance, thank you for your generosity.

My Story

The current global outbreak of COVID-19 has disrupted agricultural and food systems around the world and caused millions to lose their jobs as many businesses have begun shutting down one by one. But in our own little way, we can help these businesses; the farmers, the fisherfolks by patronizing and buying local products.  

Food is life, but most of us have a distant relationship with the farms and farmers who produced them. In fact, our daily act of eating makes us active participants in agriculture. We have the power to define how our food is consumed, the way farmers grow food and how we care for our environment. Now is the best time to give back and start supporting locals’ livelihood.
It has always been the approach of Greenpeace PH to help balance life and livelihood of the public in coming up with policies and programs and encourages the agricultural sectors prioritize & secure the future of our Food and Nutrition.  

Furthermore, healthier food choices almost always benefit environment as well. Study shows that emissions from the livestock industry is among the greatest contributors to fueling the impacts of the climate crisis, making droughts and storms harsher, reason why Greenpeace is advocating to switch to organic, plant-based foods from local eco-farms, reducing (or eliminating) meat and dairy consumption, and even growing some of your own food are all steps that help combat climate change. With this, if we decide to eat fewer meals with meat or dairy, we can have a huge impact on our collective health and the health of the planet.  

Let’s commit, collectively and individually, to do our part by being active citizens not only for the benefit of the farmers, but also for the Filipino people. Only together we can shape a #BetterNormal towards #GreenRecovery.
