My Story

Hi there, kind hearts! We are 2nd Year Medical Students from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) helping out WWF-Malaysia to fund raise for our precious Bornean elephants in Sabah, the smallest Asian elephant subspecies.

Bornean elephants play a crucial role as forest gardeners as they carry and disperse seeds far. Sadly, do you know that these gentle giants are one of the endangered species? The population is estimated to be fewer than 1,500 due to the threats such as improper land use, fragmentation of forests and poaching activity of human!

These are worrying signs that the remaining endangered population is severely threatened and could face extinction in our lifetime if this trend continues. Urgent and continuous actions need to be taken in order to conserve and protect them!
