Isabel Iglesias is fundraising for Save the Children Philippines

I am Isabel and I've stepped up to be a Hero from Home by raising funds for Save the Children Philippines!

My Story

I've always wanted to do something meaningful for my birthday, as I feel like this day is not just to celebrate my existence in the world, but to also celebrate the people who contributed to my whole being and get me to where I am today. The journey wasn't always a straight line, I encountered some twists and curves, some hard stops, and some detour to be led in the right direction. And as I look back on the last 26 years, I remain grateful because I was showered with genuine love and support by the people around me. I felt like my life was slowly filled up - thanks to my parents, my loved ones, my friends, classmates, workmates, and the strangers I met along the way. 

I've always wanted to do this and I felt like this is the right time. The past few months made us feel like the world has stopped or has gone mad and I wish that we don't forget to be kind to one another and at the same time, I hope that you help me share that love to fill our brothers and sisters who are in need. For my birthday, I want to share my blessings and give back to the thousands of children and families Save the Children is helping during these hard times of COVID-19. Instead of a physical gift, make my birthday special by making a donation to Save the Children through this fundraiser! Help me reach my goal of PHP 26,000.00. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and the enhanced community quarantine, Save the Children remains committed to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and their families.

Since March, Save the Children has distributed over 3,000 hygiene kits covering more than 13,000 individuals, 21 portable, child-friendly handwashing facilities benefiting more than 50,000 people; as well as meals, food baskets, PPEs, and medical equipment to communities in Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, strategic points in Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, and Misamis Oriental. But there’s more work to be done and more children and families to help! Donate to Save the Children and help make sure that children not only receive essential items but also that their voices are heard and their views considered in these tough times.
