My Story

 Hi All,

We are Jaden, and Jaden, junior rowing athletes at the Hong Kong Sports Institute. 

The last 2 years has been pretty tough on everyone, and so we wanted to do something that we thought would give people a bit of hope, and inspire many others to take on some personal challenges. This year we have both signed up to take on the Hong Kong Around The Island Race in a coastal double (C2X), which is a 45km rowing race around Hong Kong Island. At the age of 17, we will both be the youngest competitors this year.

This is an incredibly tough, and difficult challenge, and we both thought that we couldn’t possibly do it just for the fun of it!So we have decided to raise funds for Ocean Recovery Alliance, an amazing HK based charity which promotes cleaning up our oceans! As competitive rowers, we are on the water every single day, and we deal with an unimaginable amount of plastic and rubbish in our waters. We want to highlight the need for clean oceans, and waterways, not just for us, but for our wildlife, ecosystem, and planet!

For anyone who donates the following amounts or more, they will receive some of Ocean Recovery Alliance’s cool ocean related products for health, education and awareness:
  • HK$800 (US$105) or more = 2 Spyhop Facewear Masks (child or adult sizes are available)
  • HK$1,500 (US$195) or more = a Plastically Impossible Jigsaw Puzzle
  • HK$2,500 (US$320) or more = 3 Spyhop Facewear Masks, and one Plastically Impossible puzzle.
