I am a Direct Dialogue Campaigner of Greenpeace Philippines and an advocate for the environment and seas; a photography aficionado who loves to capture the wonders of nature.

Imagine a future where there will be more plastics than fish in our oceans. If it does not scare you, what will? Acknowledging that there is a problem is the first step towards a solution. Plastic pollution is serious and it is in congruence with all the environmental issues of today. Before this COVID-19 pandemic, humans have caused this environmental crisis.

In case you are unaware, Philippines is the third biggest plastic polluter in the world next to Indonesia and China. It will take a huge effort to reach desirable results to improve the condition of our seas globally. Our government has already started banning the use of single-use plastic in all its offices and has strengthened existing laws needed to fight back plastic pollution.

In Greenpeace Philippines, we help find ways to curb the plastic pollution crisis by exposing plastic polluters through the #BreakFreeFromPlastic campaign. We have identified the top big corporations Nestlé, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola and Pepsi, Co. as main culprits.

But this is not just an issue among private corporations and the government. This affects all of humanity and we must work together to save our oceans from plastic pollution. We wouldn’t want plastics to land on our plates, our shores, and on the faces of the next generation. The solution starts with YOU.
