We are really challenging ourselves to honor Phare - support us to make a difference!
My Story
We are perhaps the 3 most unathletic ones at Phare but are excited to challenge ourselves for the 30km Sangker River Run to raise $15000 for Phare Ponleu Selpak in celebration of Phare's 30th Anniversary. Phare is not only our family but has been the family for 1000s of students over the years - giving hope to those most in need and changing their lives through education and the arts.
Our motivation to run:
Sophal: "I want to see the students get a quality education and arts training to succeed in their lives"
Sareth: "I want to ensure that our culture heritage is passed on the next generations for it to be valued and to continue to play a part in defining our national identity."
Osman: "Over my 6 years at Phare, I have witnessed the arts as a powerful change agent for hundreds of children and families - healing, empowering and breaking the cycles of poverty. The professional programs are training the next generation of artists for the growing creative industry, while our outreach activities are contributing massively to a bigger arts and cultural eco-system in Battambang and country. This all needs to continue and requires big funding - so I challenge myself for Phare's next 30 years."
