The Will 2 Live: Battling Breast Cancer is a fundraising event organised by a group of students from the Bachelor of Corporate Communication programme at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA). BCWA was established in 1986 as a non-profit, tax-exempt, voluntary organisation with the purpose of providing breast cancer patients and survivors peer physical and emotional support.

World Health Organization (WHO) stated that in 2020, 2.3 million of women were diagnosed with breast cancer, resulting in 685000 deaths worldwide. Despite that, there are many breast cancer patients who survived the battle and is slowly on the road to recovery. However, breast cancer survivors tend to face problems in emotional and physical aspects. This is due to the confidence loss in them after going through breast removal surgery. Hence, we a group of 5 students from UTAR would love to use this opportunity to raise funds for breast cancer survivors who came from the B40 background. The funds raised will then go to the production of silicone breast prosthesis. Silicon breast prosthesis serves as a support system for survivors who have been through breast removal surgery. By having this as a support, it gives survivors back their confidence to continue their battle with this deadly cancer. 

Now is the time to show your love and support for breast cancer patients by giving them the will to live. Fundraisers will get a pink ribbon, regardless of the amount of their donations. You can show your support for the patients by wearing a pink ribbon and uploading an Instagram photo with the hashtag #TheWill2Live with other donors. All donations raised will be directed to the BCWA in order to continue their mission of improving living conditions for women with breast cancer and educating the public about breast health and breast cancer.
