My Story

I would like to share the opening of my story with this quote, “The journey of a thousand miles begin with one step” - Lao Tzu.
My name is Samantha Lee. I grew up in a small town called Teluk Intan with 2 of my siblings. As a child, I always love the outdoors. I was fortunate that my parents taught me how to cycle at the age of 4. Ever since, I never stopped. I remembered my little brother would race around the neighborhood with me. When we were tired, we would rest in the playground.
Fast forward, I am finally taking my first step to realizing my dreams. I am setting off on a Round-Malaysia cycling adventure covering over 5000km within 35 days. My journey begins 29 January 2019.
This is also an opportunity for me to give something back even on a small scale. I would like to invite everyone to lend a helping hand to Hope Mission Children’s Welfare located in my own home town. This home provides shelter, care and comfort for the orphans. Established in 2008, this home house 34 children age between 3 to 18. Having visited their home, I noticed the worn down furniture, broken electrical items and how congested the rooms were.
For this, I am reaching out to everyone, to join me and help to provide these children a better place to live in. My goal is to help raise RM 50,000 for renovations, refrigerators, mattresses, washing machines, kitchen cabinets, cupboards and couches. Additional money will be channeled to their Community Development projects such as Hope Building which is a training centre for underprivileged children, purchase of new vehicle for transportation of children to school and outdoor activities and the “adopting” a child program.
This fund-raising project would definitely motivate me to finish what I have started. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. Please accept my deepest gratitude for your support and let’s strive to make a better place for the children.
