The same time last 3 years, I made my birthday meaningful by creating a fundraiser close to my heart the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Philippines. Another birthday of mine is coming to pass and in my 5th year in UNICEF, this birthday fundraiser will help them again fund the programs that will help prevent and respond to the risks of poverty and violence against children and teens in the Philippines. 💙Let’s keep the message alive in our hearts, in each other. After making a donation, please leave inspiring messages of love, hope and kindness for others. Someone may need to hear that message today. P.S. If you are inspired to start your own fundraiser in support of UNICEF, the guide to creating your own fundraiser is in the gallery below. I can help you, too! Message me if you need help. Thank you so much! 😊

The Aesthetic Lifestyle team are undertaking the challenge of completing a tough mudder of over 10 miles with more than 20 extreme obstacles! Each and every client is making an enormous effort to completely transform their own health and fitness. This wont be easy for anyone. A lot of the legends doing this challenge were absolutely terrified about going into the gym for the first time just a few months ago, some of them have lost 10,20,30kg in body fat, some are still at the start of their journey and are now looking at taking on this epic challenge. It certainly wont be easy, it's taking them out of their comfort zones massively but all for this fantastic cause. We'd absolutely love it if you could support us along the way by helping us provide for the kids in need in the Philippines! Thank you!

Living in relief houses provided after Typhoon Yolanda, our community comprises 100 households. My goal is to bring smiles to the children's faces by initiating educational activities. I begin by teaching them manners and proper behavior, followed by engaging lessons in mathematics, English, spelling, and grammar. To make learning enjoyable, I incorporate games into every activity, offering simple rewards like biscuits and juices for motivation. Recognizing the need for better learning conditions, I aim to improve our educational environment by providing materials and basic amenities like tables for writing. As a 3rd-year college student pursuing a degree in secondary education with a major in English, I am driven by the desire to create positive change and enhance educational opportunities for everyone.

Hello, everyone. My name is Angelee, and I'm sharing a piece of my life with you, hoping you might be a part of something truly meaningful. I'm not just a teacher; I'm a simple resident in my village, navigating a challenging journey to make a difference in my family's life and the community around me.Life has taken unexpected turns. Despite being a licensed teacher, I find myself unable to teach in a public school. My father, my family's rock, had his foot amputated due to diabetes, and my duty shifted to taking care of him. This led me away from the traditional teaching path. Our family is not well-off. My mom, a hardworking OFW for years, sacrificed to support my studies and my father's medical needs. Despite her efforts, we couldn't build a decent home. I've been working from home, earning a modest income of 3 USD per hour for 7 hours a day. It's not enough to cover our basic needs, let alone the dreams I hold close to my heart. Now, I'm reaching out to you for a chance at a fresh start. I want to establish a tutorial center in my town, focusing on literacy, especially reading comprehension. Many children in my community go to school, but they need extra support to thrive in their studies.Your help won't just change my family's life; it will help me give back to my community. I dream of a tutorial center that becomes a hub of knowledge and encouragement for the children in my town. But I can't ignore the pressing medical needs of the elderly in my neighborhood, including my Aunt. Like my father, she lost a leg to diabetes and needs a prosthetic foot. My father needs a wheelchair for mobility. These essentials are beyond my reach with my current job.I'm not just asking for support; I'm asking for the chance to turn dreams into reality. With your generosity, we can build a brighter future for my family and contribute to the well-being of those around us. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to a new beginning.Thank you for considering my story, and for being a part of my journey towards a better tomorrow. Together, let's make these dreams a reality.

"A hope for happiness"  Hi, this is Angeal, who has been suffering from dravet syndrome since he was 3 months old and he's 15 years old now. What is dravet syndrome you ask? In a nut shell it's an epileptic disorder that deprives the common development of a child. So imagine suffering from it for more than a decade? It has an array of symptoms and statistics say that 1 in 40,000 people suffer from it. Taking care of him has a big toll in one's life. People with dravet syndrome, need full time care beside them. Basically this is my job now, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty five days a year. Epileptic episodes vary from each person, some suffer from 10 to more than a hundred a day. From a few seconds long to 10 or 20 minutes or even more. It doesn't matter whether they are sleeping or awake, they will experience an attack from any time of the day. Angeal's routine, differs each day. That's why sometimes, I can't even leave him just to go to the bathroom. How about treatment? The treatment for the condition itself is still non-existent. To overcome it, we need to minimize or control the amount of seizures that they experience. To do so, various drugs like diazepam and like are given to the patient. Sometimes you'd know from others that they are using a cocktail of medicines combined. Thus, giving a heavy toll to their own body to process every single day. I've also read that canabinoid medication helps. However, due to the laws of our country, it's really not easy to avail such medicine, Albeit, it shows promising results it's not easy to get it like purchasing other drugs like you go to a pharmacy and purchase it. Ketogenic therapy, it has great strides like canabinoid,, it's not that easy to avail because there are only a handful of hospitals and specialists that can accommodate the treatment. And that's not the least of your problems. Because the condition is rare and the medication or treatment is really needed thus, it comes with an exorbitant price. Seizure meds alone will back you down 10 thousand pesos a week. For other specialized treatment would cost more than 20k to 60k. I've researched that an effective canabinoid would be at least 15k to 60k per bottle that would total to a minimum of half a million a year. I'm a single parent, who can't find a job because of my son's condition. It basically makes everything hard to come through.  I'm here to raise awareness of my son's condition. As a parent, I desire the same things any other parent would want for their children. A happy life. I know there are other parents like me, who has a kid that suffers from dravet. I would love to listen or be in an organization or foundation that fights for the same cause as mine. I would love to sit down and listen on how to make my son's life easier. I would be happy to share my thoughts and experience to another parent experiencing the same conditions. The sleepless nights, the fatigue, the fear that losing your kid is relatively close with every epileptic episode. I'm grateful everyday that I get to see my son live another day. Though I'm exhausted, without sleep, and stressed. I will push through everything for Angeal. I am humbly blessed because I have a wonderful family and good friends that support me all the time. I know there's hope and help out there. I know in the future we might be able to cure dravet. For now, I just wish my son to enjoy life. I know there are foundations or groups that can help me and I want to be a part of it. I know there's an easier way to get medication for dravet, and I would love to learn how to get it. And I know a lot of people are praying for Angeal and other kids around the world with the same condition. And I would greatly appreciate more prayers. Thanks for your prayers and help in advance. And thank you so much for taking the time to read Angeal's story. God bless and have a great day.

Greetings, I am Avrie Delana, residing in South Luzon, Philippines. I am writing to bring attention to the critical situation of my 9-year-old cousin, Rajia Jasmin Mehares, who has been diagnosed with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome. Currently, she is receiving treatment at the esteemed National Children’s Hospital. Regrettably, this disease predominantly affects children, and my cousin has fallen victim to its grasp. To determine the most suitable course of action, she urgently requires a biopsy, as there exist various types of steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome. In light of this, we humbly appeal to your benevolence and seek assistance from all compassionate individuals. Your generous contribution, regardless of the amount, would be immensely appreciated and would significantly alleviate the burden faced by my cousin. We earnestly hope that through collective support, we can provide her with the necessary resources and treatments to improve her condition... I trust this correspondence finds you well. I am reaching out to you with a matter of utmost urgency concerning my cousin, Rajia. Currently grappling with a rare and debilitating ailment identified as steroid-resistant nephrotic sydrome, Rajia is in critical need of immediate medical attention. The administered medication, designed to combat the disease, carries substantial potency, concurrently posing potential risks to her overall health. Rajia, being of tender age, has been denied the simple joys of life, her existence marred by the burdens of this uncommon ailment. In light of these circumstances, I earnestly seek your benevolence and support. The exigency of Rajia’s situation demands resources to facilitate her expeditious and efficacious treatment. I appeal to your generosity, as any contribution, regardless of its magnitude, would be profoundly impactful. We firmly believe that through the collective compassion of individuals such as yourself, we can furnish Rajia with the medical care imperative for her well-being. Your benevolence not only serves to alleviate her physical suffering but also provides the prospect for a more promising future. I sincerely implore your consideration and assistance during this trying period. Your empathy and kindness will resonate profoundly within our family, offering Rajia the prospect of experiencing the joys of childhood that have thus far eluded her. Thank you for dedicating your time to peruse this letter and for considering our earnest plea. We remain hopeful that your compassionate spirit will be instrumental in our endeavor to restore Rajia’s health and well-being.
