Dear friends,

For the first time ever, Heather wishes to request Christmas presents, but in the form of donation to Malaysian Child Resource Institute (MCRI, a not-for-profit and non-governmental organisation dedicated to increasing the awareness of the rights of the child and promoting quality education).

I am a full time staff at MCRI and am raising funds for programmes to be delivered to children from disadvantaged background, such as those from shelter homes, refugee children and urban poor.

As you all know, I believe in the power of education in tackling social problem in long term, especially getting people out of vicious cycle. In the programmes, I observed their improvements in terms of skills and manners which keep me going on in this line of work. I am very delighted to see them gain confidence in gaining competency in English and motor skills, paving a successful lives for the children.

If I may, allow me to ask you all to sacrifice perhaps your privilege of having one or two meals out, to support our programmes for the children from vulnerable communities. Together, we can make a difference to the young lives today.
