Personal Challenge

Thanks heaps for your generous giving!

My Story

Hello friends, Thanks heaps for visiting my personal fundraising page.

 ********** LATEST UPDATES (as at 15 Oct 2012) **********

I'm truly grateful for all you who have shown your support through your generous and kind donations. And even if you're not able to contribute for whatever reasons, it's really OK. I appreciate your moral support and prayers too! :) Since I've reached my initial fundraising goal of RM1000, I've decided to increase the goal to RM1500, as I know some of my friends have indicated they've yet to donate, but will do so soon. Blessings as you give! ;)

 ************************************************************************
I will be taking part in "Hands Up for Children Penang Walk-a-thon on 20 Oct (Sat) and aiming to raise money for World Vision Malaysia. BUT I'm doing more than just a 5km walk...I'm gonna capture the sights and beauty of Penang on Instagram! And some hidden nooks-and-corners too! How fun is that??? ;) Decided not to lug my camera to do this. Anyway, capturing photos using my iPhone's Instagram is definitely less intimidating on the Penang folks, don't you think? My closest friends would know I thrive on spontaneous fun and adventure. Always needing to do new stuff coz I'm easily bored with the 'same old dull routines' and can't stand status-quo for long. So even though not many of them are yet to know about this decision of mine to head to Penang for the weekend of 19-21 Oct (Fri-Sun), I have a feeling they definitely won't be surprised by it. I'm also doing this as part of my fun crafted celebration for my birthday next week. I know 5km may not be that far a distance to walk, but as my debut first fundraising project, it'll do...Haha! ;) This walk-a-thon is organised by World Vision Malaysia. I've always been exposed to my photographer friends' participation in various World Vision's fundraising campaigns. But I've never joined one myself; until now that is. So I thought why not do something this time round? What would I be doing? Well, the plan is simple...Raise funds for a worthy cause to benefit children in need, via a Walk-a-thon AND Penang Instagram fun! :) Here's how my next weekend schedule would probably look like: - Leave KL on Fri morning and drive up to Penang. - Join the 5km walkathon on Sat morning. - Then head to various Penang sites and local attractions and certainly hunt for hidden places that are off-the-beaten-path. - Return home to KL on Sun. Follow me on my blog at http://instagrampenang.blogspot.com/ or Facebook and I'll be sure to update the Instagram photos of my Penang adventures there. Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations for this good cause towards supporting World Vision Malaysia. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the non-profit to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join me and get involved yourself! Leave a comment or two below-ya. And help me spread the word so more people know about this...This means more potential donations to support World Vision Malaysia in their work to bless and provide practical, long-term help for marginalised children. Making a difference in ensuring children are not deprived of their most basic needs -- shelter, food, water and education. Please dig deep and donate, every little counts! Jeannie 11 Oct 2012
