JAMIYAH SINGAPORE

Jamiyah Singapore, also known as The Muslim Missionary Society Singapore, was founded in 1932 by Moulana Abdul Aleem Siddique, who also founded the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO). Jamiyah aims to serve the community and provide welfare services to the less privileged and disadvantaged of all races and faiths, mainly through its 4 Welfare Homes, 8 Education Centres, and its range of welfare services housed in Jamiyah’s Headquarter at No. 31 Lorong 12 Geylang.

Its Welfare Homes consist of Jamiyah Home for the Aged (Darul Takrim), Jamiyah Children’s Home (Darul Ma’wa), Jamiyah Nursing Home (Darul Syifaa), and Jamiyah Halfway House (Darul Islah).

Jamiyah offers education from nursery level onwards. Its latest development is an addition of a childcare centre in Tampines, the Global Child Development Centre (GCDC) @ Tampines. Its counterpart, GCDC @ Woodlands, achieved the SPARK Accreditation in 2015, making it the first Muslim Organisation childcare centre to achieve such accreditation.

Jamiyah also offers a one-stop welfare services which include a free legal clinic and iCounsel (a virtual form of the free legal clinic), a free medical clinic, and counselling, all under one roof. Jamiyah recently launched Jamiyah Food Bank at Tannery Lane, which stores donated wet and dry food. Every 2 months, Jamiyah distributes food rations to its own beneficiaries and beneficiaries who are referred through several government agencies like People’s Association, Malay Activity Executive Committee, and Citizen’s Consultative Committee.
